It also causes social and emotional problems, these obesity factors increases health problems with increase in age.

Obesity is referred as the condition of excess fat content in the body. Obesity can occur to all age groups when the body consumes more calories than it burns. Body mass index is generally used by the medical practitioner to confirm the obesity problem in the body. If the body mass index (BMI) is more than 40 kg/m2 then it is considered as severe obesity. If the BMI rate is between 40.0 to 49.9 kg/m2 then it is considered as morbid obesity and if the BMI rate is greater than 50 kg/m2 then its is considered as super obese.

Obesity is caused by many problems like:

• Dietary calories
• Genetic problems
• Sedentary life style
• Infectious agents
• Medical and psychiatric illness
• Social determinants.

But most of the medical practitioner still believes that obesity is only caused by more calories intake and lack of physical exercise.

Obesity causes many problems like:

• Cancer
• Osteoarthritis
• Heart disease
• Type 2 diabetes
• Breathing difficulties.

It also causes social and emotional problems. Children suffering with obesity also suffer obesity in adult age, these obesity factors increases health problems with increase in age.

Obesity Prevention: Metabolism plays a key role in preventing obesity. Metabolism is nothing but a process of burning and storing the calories within the body. If you want to reduce your obesity so please concentrate on your metabolism rate. Metabolism speed up is very useful in defining weight loss. Most of the people try for many workouts without proper knowledge about metabolism .Metabolism plays a crucial role in supporting steady healthy system. Obesity is caused due to having low BMR (basal metabolic rate) than the required rate. So, low BMR rate results in less burning calories and add up to more fat in the body causing over weight or obesity.

The best ways for preventing obesity is by:

• taking low calorie content food
• Take less calories and burn more calories
• Take protein diet food
• Stop alcohols and drugs
• Maintain balance weight
• Perform physical exercise
• Avoid beverages which contain high sugar kevels.
• Take calorie deficit foods like fruits and vegetables.
• Performing physical exercises.
• Avoiding alcohols/smoking

The prevention method for obesity depends on several factors like age, body structure, activities and food intake.Take low calorie deficit content to lose weight without exercise. For this you need to plan a less food intake at regular intervals of time. Avoid taking junk foods which contains oil, sugar and flour. Having fiber-rich foods like apples, oranges, grapes, broccoli and lemon can prevent obesity. The energy produced by these fiber-rich foods can be easily burned by the body at high speed.

Make a track record of your diet and checkout the calories to burn out daily. Have 10-15 glasses of water daily to avoid hunger .It helps in increasing metabolism rate and reduces over weight. By drinking water daily you can control obesity level. Water helps in increasing metabolism rate rapidly and helps in losing over weight by burning fat at high speed.

Natural exercise plays a key role in defining metabolism rate. Metabolism is nothing but the process of burning calories required by the body. If the metabolism rate is high in the body then it will be easy to lose weight and if the metabolism rate is low then easy to gain more weight. So, in order to maintain high metabolism rate we have to pan for regular exercises like walking, Aerobic exercises, skipping, jumping, cycling, weight lifting exercise, swimming and sit-ups. Avoiding alcohols/smoking will helpful in preventing obesity. Don’t use un-prescribed medical drugs which may cause several side effects.

Prevention of obesity is very important because it causes many health related problems .Obesity can be avoided by improving metabolism rate by taking calorie-deficit food along with some physical exercises. Obesity can also be prevented by using drugs but they may contain some side effects which may cause several health related problems.

• Dietary calories
• Genetic problems
• Sedentary life style
• Infectious agents
• Medical and psychiatric illness
• Social determinants.

Dietary calories: Generally the main reason for the occurrence of obesity is due to intake of more fat calories than they burn. Due to this imbalance in calories, obesity occurs in adults.

Genetic problems: Due to genetic disorders in enzymes, obesity is carried from one generation to another. The families which are suffering from obesity, shares the same diet and lifestyle which causes younger generation to attain obesity at no cost.

Sedentary life style: It is medical term used to define a particular life style which carries usage of drugs/alcohols and lacks physical exercise. It has became a common life style, as many of them preferring it .Sedentary life style consists of working in front of computer for long time, reading and watching tv regularly. These activities lack physical exercise which in turn results in causing obesity.

Infectious agents
: due to the infectious agents in the human digestive system, the body metabolism rate decreases at high rate which in turn causes obesity. Infectious agents like gut flora plays vital role in causing obesity.

Medical and psychiatric illness
: medical and physical illness and the drugs which are used to treat them can cause obesity. Medical illness like sad, anger and boredom causes many people to eat more calorie content food which results in decreasing the body Metabolism rate and this low metabolism rate in the body causes obesity.

Social determinants
: Social life also plays a major role in causing obesity. High class people are generally facing this obesity problem due to their daily activities. Smoking rate in individuals also causes the occurrence of obesity.

Obesity in children is described as weighing too much than the required weight. Obesity in children refers to excess body fat due to different factors like growth rate and calorie intake .Children growth occurs at different rate so, it is difficult to know whether child is overweight or obese.

Obesity in children can be prevented in the early stages by following these preventive measures:
• Giving low calorie content food in childhood.
• Breastfeeding and low solid food intake

Obesity and overweight in Children, Teens and Adults

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Obesity and overweight are referred as the accumulation of excess fat content in the body. Obesity and overweight occurs when the body consumes more calories than it burns.

Body mass index is generally used by the medical practitioner to confirm the obesity and over weight in the body. Body mass index is a table form used to calculate the overweight and obesity in children, teens and adults. Body mass index plays the key role in defining the basal Metabolism rate . If your body system faces low metabolism rate, then your body faces problems in several process like digestion, regulation of blood and fat conversion. Due to this problems you body will be gaining more over weight and obesity.

Body mass index table is useful in calculating the measure of obesity and overweight for children, teenagers and adults. It is used as a rough guide by all the medical practitioners.

Defining over weight and obesity:

Overweight: If the BMI is equal to or greater than 25 kg/m2 then it is considered as overweight.

Severe obesity
: if the body mass index (BMI) is more than 40 kg/m2 then it is considered as severe obesity.

Morbid obesity
: If the BMI rate ranges between 40.0 kg/m2 to 49.9 kg/m2 then it is considered as morbid obesity.

Super obesity
: if the BMI rate is greater than 50 kg/m2 then it is considered as super obese.

Information about over weight and obesity: From the statistical records of WHO (world health organization), they are around 1.6 million teens were facing overweight and 400 million adults were facing obesity problem. And 20 million children around the age of 5 years were facing overweight problem. There will be increase in death rate by 50% in next ten years.

World health organization made an estimation factor, that is by 2015 there will be 700 million people in the world will be facing obesity problem and 2.3 billion teens will be facing overweight problem. These overweight and obesity problems are like an epidemicdisease in both developed/undeveloped nations.

Causes of overweight and obesity:

The modern life styles, fat food transitions, less physical activity jobs, technology in office and home and increase in use of transport are the factors driving overweight and obesity.

Common health consequences by over weight and obesity are:

• Prostate, Breast, Kidney, Endometrial, Colon and throat cancer.
• Osteoarthritis
• Heart disease
• Type-1,Type 2 diabetes
• Breathing difficulties (asthma).
• Fatty liver disease
• Gallbladder disease
• Chronic Venus insufficiency
• Deep vein thrombosis
• Arthritis
• Musculoskeletal disorders
.
Prevention of overweight and obesity: By following these steps overweight and obesity can be prevented in the early stages of the occurrence.

• Take less calories and burn more calories
• Take protein diet food
• Stop alcohols and drugs
• Maintain balance weight
• Perform physical exercise
• Avoid taking fat content foods
• Avoid beverages which contain high sugar kevels.
• Take calorie deficit foods like fruits and vegetables.

Obesity and overweight in children, teenagers and adults are measured by using the rough guide of body mass index table. A body mass index table defines the difference between overweight and obesity. Health risk problems caused by both overweight and obese are common in nature. Prevention of overweight and obesity is must and should in the early stage to lead a healthy life without any health problems.

Diabetes can be prevented before its occurrence. But after its occurrence it cannot be cured completely. Type1 and Type 2 diabetes causes severe impact on individual life. Due to its disorders, the break down of protein and fat into energy were carried out and the glucose breakdown is not carried due to non-production of insulin hormone. Due to only conversion fat and proteins into energy, symptoms like ployuria, polyphegia, and polydipsia and massive weight loss will be caused. In Type 1, Type2 diabetes, they are two types of blood levels. They are hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. If the blood sugar level is less than 70mg/dl, then it is called as hypoglycemia and if the blood glucose more than 110mg/dl, then it is called as hyperglycemia.

Diabetes causes several health problems: These are the several health risk problems caused by diabetes disorder.

• Overweight
• End-stage renal disease
• Cardiovascular problem
• Neuropathy
• Kidney failure
• Gangrene
• Amputations
• Increased fatigue
• Weak immune system

Diabetes can be controlled effectively by the daily usage of insulin drugs. Diabetes prevention can be carried out following these steps:

• Planning Proper diet plan
• Doing physical activities
• Avoiding alcohols/smoking
• Take less calories and burn more calories
• Take protein diet food
• Stop alcohols and drugs
• Maintain balance weight
• Perform physical exercise
• Avoid taking fat content foods
• Avoid beverages which contain high sugar kevels.
• Take calorie deficit foods like fruits and vegetables.

Planning proper diet plan: plan a proper diet plan which contains no fat-foods, sugars, beverages and junk-foods. These foods contain more fat content which causes to gain more weight with less metabolic rate. Body with more weight can cause diabetes. So, plan for nutrition content foods which play a crucial role in preventing diabetes. As our body responds quickly to the diet controlled nutrition food, as it will be easy to burn out the fat in less time. So changing to the proper food diet will really helps in preventing diabetes. Generally our body requires more energy to break down the complex molecules of carbohydrates and proteins to use them. So for the digestion purpose of these nutrients, our body burns out more calories which in turn decrease the weight with increase in metabolism rate and prevent diabetes from occurrence.

Physical activities
: physical exercises play a key role in preventing diabetes. Exercise increases body basal rate in the body which makes us to lose weight. So, in order to maintain high metabolism rate we have to pan for regular exercises like walking, Aerobic exercises, skipping, jumping, cycling, weight lifting exercise, swimming and sit-ups.

Avoiding alcohols/smoking
: Avoiding alcohols/smoking will helpful in preventing Diabetes. Don’t use un-prescribed medical drugs which may cause several side effects.

Take less and burn more calories to prevent diabetes from occurrence. This is the best way to fight against the occurrence of diabetes.

Take protein diet food because they contain rich fiber content which burns more calories during intake .This food helps in increasing body metabolism rate. Complex carbs are very rich in fiber so they take longer time to digest and burns more fat calories in the body. Grains, fruits, vegetables and beans come under complex carbs. These rich fiber foods are broken into sugar (glucose) during digestion process to produce energy .Complex carbs delivers tons of mineral, proteins and fatty acids.

Avoid fatty foods. Fat loss foods play a crucial role in reducing fat content and increasing the metabolism rate. As our body responds quickly to the diet controlled nutrition food because it is easy to burn out the fat calories in less time. So changing to the proper food diet will really helps in loosing body fat.
